Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has donated GHC10,000 to Asante Kotoko Sporting Club following their impressive victory over Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President’s Cup.
The cash donation was made in person by the Minister and received on behalf of the team by Gilbani Samba, the club’s captain and standout Congolese defender, who led Kotoko to a hard-fought win in the high-profile encounter.
The gesture was a mark of appreciation and encouragement for Kotoko’s performance, as well as a broader show of support for domestic football development.
The donation is expected to go toward player motivation and logistical support as the team continues its preparations for the 2025/26 season.
Asante Kotoko defeated their arch rivals Hearts of Oak 2-1 to claim the trophy. The Porcupines scored two second half goals to turn the tie after going a goal down in the first half.
