Asante Kotoko has expressed heartfelt condolences following the tragic death of Stephen King Amoah, popularly known as Otumfour Nana, a passionate and devoted fan of the club.
In an official tribute, the club highlighted the deceased never shy away from exhibiting his love for the club.
The mentioned that they are crestfallen by his passing, but also expressed belief in the judiciary to enjoy justice is served.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely passing of Stephen King Amoah, a proud and devoted supporter.
“His unwavering passion for the club was evident to all who knew him, and his loss is deeply felt across the Porcupine family.”
The tribute continued:
“He leaves behind a wife and two young children, and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time.
“We trust that the security agencies will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served.
Rest peacefully, Otumfour Nana.”
Amoah, a Ghana Immigration Service officer, was found dead under disturbing circumstances days after being reported missing. He was a respected member of the Kotoko fan base and widely known for his dedication to the club.
His body was found near Berekuso, showing signs of stab wounds to the neck and chest, with partially burnt remains, reportedly wrapped in a woolen carpet—details confirmed by his brother, Akwasi Amoako.
He becomes second popular Kotoko fan to tragically lose his life in 2025 after Nana Pooley got stabbed to death in February.
