Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo on a three-year deal, after exchanging final documents with FC Samartex.
The 21-year-old joins from FC Samartex and previously played for Real Tamale United. In just two seasons in the Ghana Premier League, he has made over 60 appearances, showing consistency and maturity well beyond his age.
Adabo is a tough, intelligent midfielder who protects the back line with strong positional discipline. He reads the game well, tackles cleanly, recycles possession quickly, and keeps things calm in midfield. His timing, awareness, and ability to win second balls are key traits that strengthen the spine of any team.
“There were a few offers, including some from outside,” Adabo said when speaking with Kotoko Media. “But I believe playing for Asante Kotoko puts me in the best place to grow and earn a call- up to the Black Stars. This is a big step for me, and I’m confident it’s the right one for my career.”
Adabo, who impressed with his ball-winning ability, composure, and tactical intelligence at Samartex, is viewed as a key addition to bolster Kotoko’s midfield depth and defensive solidity.
Meanwhile, the club has already announced eight players so far to strengthen their squad ahead of upcoming season. Kotoko first announced the signing of midfielder Hubert Gyau on a four-year deal from Berekum Chelsea, Francis Acquah, Johnson Oppong, Zackaria Fuseini, Aziz Haruna Dari , Seth Kwadwo, oseph Amoah and Lord Hilary Adabo.
