Benjamin Obeng Sekyere has firmly dismissed rumours linking him to the Vice Chairmanship role of the Asante Kotoko National Circles Council (NCC) under Chairman Solomon Ofosu-Ware, popularly known as Chairman Solo.
The reports, which circulated in recent days, suggested that Obeng Sekyere was seeking to be appointed as first vice chairman if chairman Solomon Ofosu-Ware emerges victorious.
However, in a strongly-worded statement, he clarified that his focus remains unchanged.
“I, Obeng Sekyere Benjamin, remain fully committed to my candidacy for the Chairmanship of the National Circles Council (NCC) of Asante Kotoko.
The rumour suggesting that I am seeking to serve as Vice Chairman under Chairman Solomon Ofosu-Ware is misleading and unfounded. I urge my supporters to disregard this claim as baseless and without merit,” he said.
He went on to reassure his supporters that he remains confident of victory in the upcoming elections, insisting he is “still the No.1 choice” for the position.
Obeng Sekyere’s clarification sets the record straight as the NCC elections approach. The election is slated for August 28, 2025.
