GHALCA Top 4: Asante Kotoko SC fall short to title; aim at redeeming against Hearts of Oak SC

The 2025 GHALCA Top 4 has left Asante Kotoko SC in shamble after falling to impress. The Kumasi-based outfit has seen the trophy delude them with a game to end tournament.

The 2025 GHALCA Top 4 is ongoing at the University of Ghana, Legon stadium with last season’s top four finish in the league participating for glory. Its annually organized to serve as preseason for such clubs.

This year’s tournament outcome is one not to behold by Asante Kotoko SC and their fan base, having lost their first two matches. Considering, the table Bibiani Gold Stars, Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions can all still win the competition going into the final round of matches.

Asante Kotoko are, however, mathematically out of contention even before they play their last game.

Coach Karim Zito side lost 2-1 to Bibiani GoldStars following an unfortunate own goal conceded in the second half. Despite, enough time they failed to secure a leveller, daunting their hopes in the second game.

Kotoko will be hoping to redeem themselves when they face arch rival Accra Hearts of Oak SC in their last game. Definitely, a win over the Phobias will offer a morale boaster heading into the new season despite having a brilliant preseason before the GHALCA Top 4.
