Chad coach, Raoul Savoy has tipped Ghana to qualify for the 2026 World Cup following their 1-1 draw with the four-time African champions on Thursday.
The Black Stars are aiming to qualify for their fifth appearance at the World’s most prestigious tournament, scheduled to be held in USA, Canada and Mexico.
With three games left to wrap up the qualifiers, the Black Stars sit top of Group I with 16 points – 3 points above Madagascar, who are in second position with 13 points.
“It will be a big failure if Ghana fails to qualify because they are now in a good position and it will be a mess if they fail to qualify from this group because I think the other teams are not ready for this World Cup. I tip Ghana to qualify over other teams; if not, it will be a professional failure,” Savoy told GhanaSportsPage.com.
The Black Stars of Ghana will continue their journey against Mali on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
However, that 1-1 draw against Chad cost Ghana the chance to extend their cushion at the top and cannot afford slip-ups against the Maliens who are firmly in contention for a top-two finish.
