Mali head coach Tom Saintfiet has backed Ghana to book an automatic ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, citing the Black Stars’ quality and experience on the continental stage.
Speaking after his side’s defeat against Ghana, Saintfiet said he had no doubts about the Black Stars finishing top of Group I.
“Ghana has so much quality. There can’t be any problem for them to beat Comoros and qualify as number one,” the Belgian tactician stated.
The Black Stars boosted their chances of progressing to the World Cup finals with a 1-0 win over Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana currently leads the group standings and could seal qualification for the global showpiece if they secure victory against Comoros in October.
The four-time African champions are aiming to extend their impressive record to five and become one of Africa’s representatives in the expanded 2026 tournament.
