The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced disciplinary charges against Accra Hearts of Oak SC and player Hussein Mohammed following incidents that occurred after their Ghana Premier League match against Asante Kotoko SC.
According to the GFA statement, both parties have been charged with breaches of Articles 16(2)(b), 12(1)(k), and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019), and the GFA Premier League Regulations (2025).
It is alleged that Hearts of Oak failed to control its players after the final whistle, with several reportedly confronting the referee in a disorderly manner. The club is also accused of allowing its supporters to throw objects onto the field of play.
Additionally, player Hussein Mohammed is alleged to have assaulted the match referee right after the game.
The GFA has given both the club and the player until Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to respond to the charges.
This development comes just days after Kotoko’s 1-0 victory in the Super Clash, a match that drew massive attention and tension both on and off the pitch.
Guinean striker Morifing Donzo scored the only goal in the fixture after expertly converting a penalty in the first half.
The victory send Kotoko to 7th on the table with three games in hand as they trail league leaders Aduana Stars by 5 points.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak after suffering their first defeat of the season are 4th with 16 points.
