The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has levelled disciplinary charges against Accra Hearts of Oak SC and midfielder Hussein Mohammed following misconduct after the final whistle of Sunday’s Super clash between Asante Kotoko SC.
Accra Hearts of Oak SC suffered a 1-0 defeat to arch rivals Asante Kotoko SC at home and could not hold their peace but rush on match officials immediately after the game. Hearts of Oak SC were furious with a goal been disallowed by assistant referee for an offside in the die embers of the game.
Hearts of Oak officials including player Hussein Mohammed were spotted attacking the referees, hence charged by the GFA.
In a statement released after the game, the GFA confirmed that both the club and the player had breached Articles 16(2)(b), 12(1)(k), and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019) as well as provisions of the GFA Premier League Regulations (2025).
According to the FA, Hearts of Oak failed to maintain proper control over its players and officials after the final whistle, leading to several individuals confronting the referee in what was described as a disorderly and aggressive manner.
The club’s supporters were also accused of throwing objects onto the pitch, endangering match officials and players.
