Coach Johnson Smith has being appointed new head coach by Ghana Premier league club Basake Holy Stars FC. The experienced Ghanaian trainer was confirmed new gaffer Tuesday evening, following the departure of Evans Adotey.
Smith who was released off his role as assistant coach by Nations FC last month takes charge of the Aiyinase based club for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.
With his vast experience managing Asante Kotoko SC and Nations FC, he is expected to rescue Holy Stars from the relegation zone having seen the side fall with just six points in 10 matches.
“Basake Holy Stars warmly welcomes Johnson Smith to our technical team.
His expertise and experience will be an asset to our club. We look forward to achieving more together”, club statement confirms his appointment.
He will be at the touchline when Basake Holy Stars takes on Asante Kotoko SC this afternoon at the Crosby Awuah Memorial park in the Premier league outstanding game.
