The head coach of the Benin men’s national football team Gernot Rohr, has left Salifu Ibrahim out of their final squad for the upcoming 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak SC midfielder who has his root linked to Benin Republic but born in Ghana, recently switched nationality to Benin. However, could not earn a place in the team’s final squad to AFCON.
Upon nationality switch, Ibrahim secured his callup to the team during the November international break but nonetheless, could not make the cut for AFCON.
Salifu Ibrahim plays in Football Superleague of Kosovo and currently trades with FC Drita.
