Asante Kotoko SC communication director Sarfo Duku has confirmed Libyan side Al-Ahli Benghazi have yet to honour their part of obligation after snatching forward Albert Amoah.
It came as a surprise months ago, when the Porcupine Warriors announced the transfer of top striker Albert Amoah to Al-Ahli in the course of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier league. Nonetheless, Albert Amoah joined Al-Ahli Benghazi on a two year deal.
However, the Libyan outfit have yet to settle Kotoko the agreed transfer amount, leaving Kotoko in despair.
Sarfo Duku revealed this when asked, about the transfer amount.
“I wouldn’t want to go deeply into the matter, but all I can say is that Kotoko has a transfer agreement with Al-Ahli Benghazi regarding a former striker, Albert Amoah”
“Even though the agreed transfer amount is yet to hit Kotoko’s accounts, I can confirm that the IMC chairman is in constant touch with Al-Ahli Benghazi officials, and the amount will certainly arrive”, he hinted.
“I cannot go into the specifics of the agreement due to contractual issues. Trust me, as both clubs are governed by the rules of the game, I do not think anything untoward can happen.”
Since the departure of Albert Amoah, Kotoko SC forward line have struggled to register goals leaving pressure on midfielders to deliver.
This has seen Kotoko manage just two points in three league matches.
