Kwesi Appiah, Asante Kotoko SC Interim Management Committee (IMC) member has affirmed that his outfit still has sight set on the 2025/26 Ghana Premier league title despite inconsistency.
The Ghanaian heavyweights have struggled with consistent performance and eye-catching display in the ongoing campaign, with recent results very worrisome to the supporters. The fan base has already called for the sack of head coach Abdul Karim Zito following poor outings.
They currently sit 3rd on the league log with 24 points, after 14 matches but failed to pick enough points in their last five matches to battle for the league title.
Zito’s side has just five points to show in five league matches, having won one and recorded two draws in the process. Nonetheless, member of the IMC Kwesi Appiah insists Kotoko are prepared to fight for the title to the very end.
“We are doing our best and while some decisions may not always be right, they offer valuable reasons”.
“Our desire and hope are to win the Ghana Premier league title, but above all, we are prepared to fight to the very end”, he told Akoma FM in an interview.
Asante Kotoko SC will hope to build on their title chase when they face Eleven Wonders FC in week 15 clash at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
