Asante Kotoko SC captain Samba O’Neil has announced that, his outfit is now on the chase for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier league title after annihilating Bechem United FC on Sunday.
The Congolese defender played a pivotal row in inspiring the Porcupine Warriors to a 6-0 big win over Bechem United FC in week 16 of the Premiership at the Kumasi Baba Yara sports stadium. With Morifing Donzo netting the opener in the first quarter of the game, Samba O’Neil scored to double their lead to a 2-0 scoreline even before half the hour mark.
Kotoko showed no mercy to the visitors as they bagged them 3-0 first half and added same goal margin to the net in the second department.
The enviable victory, unleased the beast in Samba O’Neil who now declares Asante Kotoko SC title contenders, affirming that they are now up for the ultimate and nothing more.
“Huge congrats to the team for a massive win. The title charge is well and truly on”, he said.
Samba however could not enjoy full throttle of the game due to a knock he picked in the 49th minute, but offered an update on his situation revealing it’s a minor setback and will soon be back to guide the Reds to the title.
“A minor setback with my injury, but I will be back stronger”.
