Asante Kotoko SC coach Abdul Karim Zito has expressed his disappointment with his player’s performance, particularly following unsatisfactory result against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.
Kotoko were frustrated to a goalless draw in front of their fans at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports stadium. The outcome of the encounter has baffled the experienced Ghanaian trainer who refused to hide his disappointment, saying,”I’m disappointed in my boys because all this week I wish you were there to observe training”.
The Ghanaian powerhouse who had shown signs of promise prior to the end of 2025/26 Ghana Premier league first round, now appear to be faltering at a crucial point drawing at home to the shock of fans.
Karim Zito who has often emphasized that, his outfit is gunning for the Premier league is left frustrated but not giving up on title chase.
“As you rightly said, am disappointed in my boys because all this week I wish you were there to observe” We did a lot on finishing, finishing, finishing but unfortunately they were not focus”
“With all seriousness and honesty, I don’t buy (accept) this result but this won’t disappoint me to stop fighting for the league title”, Zito told the media during post-match.
“We have 16 matches remaining and I think we have to go back work and make sure we win our away games to make amends”.
Asante Kotoko SC now face a test of character as they look to bounce back and regain momentum in the league. With Zito still at the helm and clearly demanding more, all arsenals will be conveyed in response for their upcoming fixtures against Bibiani GoldStars SC, at Dun’s park.
Currently, the Porcupine Warriors sit 4th on the log with 31 points after 18 league matches.
