Despite, the brilliant display and form exhibited to the watchful eyes of Accra Hearts of Oak SC supporters by goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi, head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has confirmed Benjamin Asare is still the club’s number one.
Benjamin Asare suffered an unknown injury and got sidelined for couple of weeks were, he missed 8 league matches. In his absence, Solomon Agbasi showed up to record 6 clean sheets in 8 games.
However, Asare returned to mend the goalpost on Saturday following his recovery from injury to command a start against Hohoe United FC, guiding the Phobias to a 1-0 victory away in Ho. The experienced shot-stopper marked his comeback with a solid display as Hearts opened the second round of the Ghana Premier League campaign on a winning note.
Head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani speaking to the media showed authority to state emphatically that when Asare is 100% fit remains Hearts of Oak SC number one choice in post. He also acknowledged the fact that, Asare is the captain of the side.
“Benjamin Asare is our number one goalkeeper and the captain. Whenever he is fit and ready, he gets the nod to start,” Dramani stated.
The return of Benjamin Asare is a major boost for the Continental Club Masters as they look to build their momentum in the second half of the season, and challenge for the league title.
