The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has begun moves to strengthen the Black Stars’ technical team as preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking on LUV FM, GFA spokesperson Henry Asante Twum confirmed that discussions are ongoing to reinforce the team’s technical setup, following recommendations made by head coach Otto Addo after Ghana secured qualification.
“There are also plans to strengthen the technical team, which is very well-known, and is one of the recommendations that the coach made immediately after our qualification, and that discussion is also ongoing,” Asante Twum said.
He acknowledged that much of the preparatory work often goes unnoticed by the public but remains crucial to the team’s success.
“A lot is being done, but the interesting thing in football is that everything you do behind the scenes is not recognised until the team lines up on the pitch to play,” he noted.
Asante Twum added that the GFA will continue working behind the scenes in the build-up to Ghana’s opening World Cup fixture.
“From now until June 17, when we line up for our first match in Toronto against Panama, we will continue to work to make the team better,” he added.
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign on June 17 in Toronto, with expectations high as preparations gather pace.
The Black Stars are in Group L along with England, Croatia and Panama.
