The Ghana Football Association has strengthened the Black Stars’ technical setup ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cupwith the appointment of Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren as assistant coach.
Kim along with Frenchman Alain Ravera are the latest additions to the Black Stars coaching staff as the GFA augment the department.
Ravera, who brings vast European coaching experience, joins the team to add tactical depth and technical expertise as Ghana prepares for the global showpiece.
Björkegren’s inclusion further highlights the GFA’s intent to integrate proven technical leadership across its national teams.
The Swedish coach has earned plaudits for his work with the Black Queens, guiding the side to a bronze medal at the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The additions form part of a broader plan by the GFA to reinforce the Black Stars’ backroom staff following qualification for the World Cup, with an emphasis on experience, modern coaching methods, and continuity.
