The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is the Life Patron of Asante Kotoko, is expected to dissolve the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC).
Otumfuo is currently in South Africa on official duties, but sources close to Ghanasportspage.com indicate that a decision regarding the future of the IMC will be taken upon his return.
The IMC headed by Nana Apinkra was appointed in 2023 after Otumfuo dissolved the club’s then Management Committee, tasking the interim body with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club during a transitional period.
The dissolution follows the Asante Kotoko are on a horrific run winning just one of their last six matches.
They sit 5th on the league table and have exited the MTN FA Cup with minimal chances of playing in CAF interclub competition next season.
The poor run as led to the sacking of head coach Abdul Karim Zito.
