Former Asante Kotoko SC midfielder Edmund Owusu Ansah has slammed the standard of Ghana Premier league having noticed the low quality within the league.
According to the ex-footballer, the domestic league is not at it’s best disclosing that its even difficult to observe just a single team in the league put together ten passes during possession.
He also revealed that, respect is one thing missing amongst Ghanaian players an act that deny them development.
Ghanaian clubs in recent times struggled to rock shoulders with clubs on the Continent especially in the CAF Inter-Club competition due to lack of quality players.
Speaking to 3Sports, Edmund Owusu lamented on how deep the Ghanaian league has sunk in well.
“The standard of the Ghana Premier League is not at its best. The standard is low. It’s difficult to see teams connect up to ten passes”
“These current Ghana Premier League players don’t even give respect to themselves, unlike in our time. The current players all feel big, and you can’t advise them.
“Pride is what gets these GPL players feeling they have arrived. Once a journalist starts complimenting them, they turn to believe they have arrived instead of believing hard work is what has got them there,” he fumed.
