Ghanaian football trainer Abdul Karim Zito has confirmed he was consumed by pressure during his stint with Asante Kotoko SC.
The experienced gaffer upon return to his former club could not manage them for a full season. He joined in 2025 with few games to end the 2024/25 campaign but commenced the 2025/26 season with them.
Nonetheless, left the club mid season by resigning due to poor run of form.
Severe pressure mounted on Karim Zito to resign, having recorded inconsistencies in results, leading to his departure.
Speaking in an intervuew, Zito revealed his Doctor admitted he visited on time and was consumed with pressure hence was medically unfit.
“Seeing my doctor shortly after leaving Kotoko, he told me I was fortunate for the timely check-up; he noticed I was medically unfit, though I hadn’t realised while working”
“I was living, eating, and talking alone, consumed by the Kotoko job. I handled the pressure all by myself. I only managed to see my family on five occasions,” he told GSN.
The former Dreams FC head coach is now with FC Ashanti Gold 04 after agreeing short term contract with the Division One League side.
