Ghanaian trainer Shaibu Osei Alhassan has refused to continue his job with Division One League side FC Ashanti Gold 04, despite impressive spell.
Shaibu was handed the head coach role of the Obuasi based outfit at the beginning of 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League after leaving Hohoe United FC. He was an assistant coach with now premier league side Hohow United FC, where he played an integral role in ensuring a topflight ticket last season.
Following FC Ashanti Gold 04 appointment of Abdul Karim Zito as new coach, Shaibu Osei Alhassan has opted to depart the club, according to a reliable source close to Ghanasportspage.com
Shaibu is currently in Prampram working on acquiring his coaching license A certificate, however do not wish to return to the club.
After week 20 of the league, Shaibu has accumulated more points (40) in Division One League Zone to sit summit with FC Ashanti Gold 04. The club is on the verge of attaining promotion to the Ghana Premier league should they maintain current form.
REASON FOR SHAIBU EXITING
According to a source close to FC Ashanti Gold 04 Coach Shaibu Osei Alhassan has indicated he can not work again with the club, citing their new technical direction not conducive for him with the appointment of former Dreams FC and Asante Kotoko SC gaffer Karim Zito.
He’s revealed that, he can not work under Karim Zito in any capacity at the club.
He believe, his decision to acquire license A certificate was mutually agreed by the club hierarchy and offered him assurance of his coaching job. Only to be informed of new coach appointment, believing he deserve the platform to accomplished what he started with the role offered him till the season ends with FC Ashanti Gold 04.
