Former Asante Kotoko SC head coach Maxwell Konadu has hinted that pressure comes managing the two most glorious Ghanaian clubs, Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak SC hence they will need a topnotch trainer with huge character to handle the clubs.
He’s commentary comes on the back of his former club Kotoko, parting ways with Abdul Karim Zito and now in the market for next permanent tactician. Currently, the Porcupine Warriors is managed by assistant coach Yaw Prince Owusu on interim base – till 2025/26 season ends.
Following that, Maxwell Konadu has highlighted the criteria for selecting a permanent trainer to take full charge and secure results for the side.
According to the Black Satellites head coach, patients is needed in securing a right manager for the side and not one that arrives and get fired soon after a short stint.
“It is about who fit the bill. Kotoko and Hearts of Oak you need coaches with characters to handle the pressure and their fan base”
“It is all about patient and making sure you go for the right one” He told 3Sports.
The Ghana Premier league heavyweight in the last three seasons, had to work with three coaches including Maxwell Konadu and Prosper Nertey Ogum, however have yet to clinch the Ghanaian domestic league in the last four seasons. Their last time winning the topflight competition was 2021/22 season.
