Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi has not received an official call-up to the Ghana national football team, contrary to earlier reports circulating in the media.
According to Nhyira FM, the shot-stopper has instead been named on the standby list for the Black Stars’ upcoming international friendlies scheduled for March.
Initial reports suggested Agbasi had earned his maiden senior national team invitation following his impressive performances for Accra Hearts of Oak. However, the latest clarification indicates he will only join the squad if replacements become necessary.
The development corrects earlier announcements that indicated the goalkeeper had secured a place in the main squad for the matches against Austria and Germany.
