The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced new dates for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026, which will be hosted by Morocco.
CAF, in a statement released on March 5, confirmed that the tournament initially scheduled to take place from 17 March to 3 April 2026, has now been rescheduled to run from 25 July to 16 August 2026.
The continental football governing body explained that the decision followed consultations with key partners including FIFA and other stakeholders.
“After discussions between CAF and its partners, FIFA and other stakeholders, CAF decided to reschedule the dates of the TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON 2026 to 25 July – 16 August 2026 to ensure the success of this important women’s competition, in light of certain unforeseen circumstances,” the statement said.
CAF added that preparations for the tournament are already underway, expressing confidence that the 2026 edition of Africa’s premier women’s football competition will be a successful event.
