The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Asante Kotoko’s Welfare Officer and Goal keeper for allegedly seizing a red card from the referee following their 1-0 defeat to Karela United on last Sunday.
The incident occurred at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, where Kotoko’s goalkeeper, Mohamed Camara, was sent off for charging at the referee in a post-match reaction. He has also been charged.
Amos Frimpong, a former player of the club, allegedly took the red card from the referee, Robert Musey, sparking a heated exchange.
The action of the two, according to the GFA, breaches Article 12(1)(i) of its Disciplinary Code 2019.

The two have until Wednesday, March 11 to provide responses to the charges.
