Black Stars captain and Leicester City’s forward Jordan Ayew has assured Ghanaians their eagerness to excel at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The West African country will be making their fourth appearance at the global showpiece with huge expectations and reputation. Ghana’s last appearance at the Mundial was Qatar 2022 but was very abysmal after finishing 3rd in group stage.
With this, reputation at stake Ghanaians expect the Black Stars to show up well prepared to exhibit high profile football to qualify from the group phase.
Captain and leader of the Black Stars Jordan Ayew says they [Black Stars] are not appearing at the Mundial to just add up to the numbers.
Revealing the team will stage a very good performance at the global showpiece to uplift the name of the country and the players.
“We are going to the World Cup to give our very best.
” We want to put on a show and hopefully, achieve the results we are aiming for. We are not just going to the USA to make up the numbers”, he told Adom FM in an interview.
The 23rd edition of the Mundial will be staged in the USA, along with Mexico and Canada.
