Head coach for Nations FC Stephen Frimpong Manso lament poor ball handling decision making to his side defeat to Asante Kotoko SC. The Abrankese based outfit suffered a 3-0 defeat to unconvincing Asante Kotoko SC on Sunday at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Nations FC despite holding the home side to a 1-0 scoreline in the first half of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier league week 26 fixture, returned to constantly lose possessions and concentration at their back line.
Albert Amoah handed Kotoko the break through from Kotei’s close before Samba O’Neil and Morifying Donzo converted from the spot in the 86th and 90th minute mark respectively to amass all three maximum points at home.
Frimpong Mamso, a Ghana Premier league winner says his players gifted out a lot of balls which handed Kotoko the opportunity to always move on counter to punish his side. Insisting, the result is not the true reflection of the entire game.
“If you look at all the goals we conceded, they’re all goals that can be avoided. We were just giving out the balls and they [Kotoko] giving us the counter attacks”
“For me, I think we made alot of mistakes especially the last ten minutes of the game and that’s why we conceded those goals, either than that I don’t think its the true reflection of the game”
He added if his side had taken their chances earlier in the game, it would have being a different result.
“If we had taken the chances it would have being a different matter maybe, but in football it happens so you can not blame your players too much”.
This defeat to Nations FC leaves them 11th on the log with 24 points whiles the victory elevates Asante Kotoko SC to 3rd with 42 points, just 6 points behind new top placed Bibiani GoldStars FC.
