Former Asante Kotoko SC head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed that he’s elated to have coached Asante Kotoko SC despite issues that surrounded his stints.
The Ghanaian gaffer managed the Porcupine Warriors on two occasions, where he sealed CAF Champions League for the club during his time. He guided Kotoko to the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League title before returning for another spell between 2023 and 2025.
Ogum, who previously managed Ebusua Dwarfs FC and WAFA, admit coaching the Ghana Premier league record holder’s (25) is a huge honour in his coaching career.
Speaking on the GFA Podcast, the coaching education instructor revealed no regrets about his time at the club.
“I have never regretted coaching Asante Kotoko. It is like coaching the Brazilian national team; you can never have that kind of regret”
“I don’t regret it, and I have nothing against anyone”whether players, supporters, or management,” he said.
“To me, it is an honour, and it will continue to be an honour for me to coach Kotoko. People now address me as the former Kotoko coach, not even Ebusua Dwarfs or WAFA coach, and that is a pride I carry. I have no regrets.”
Currently, Ogum is handling the Ghana U-17 Youth team – The Black Satellites and expected to lead them to the African Cup of Nations.
