Public Relations Officer of the Asante Kotoko China Circles, Martin Tawiah, believes Nations FC are the favourites to be relegated ahead of the final round of matches in the Ghana Premier League season.

With the survival race set to go down to the wire, Tewiah shared his assessment of the clubs battling to avoid the drop and explained why he believes Nations FC face the toughest task.

“Nations FC will be relegated,” he told ghanasportspage.com

According to him, the battle for survival now involves Heart of Lions, Young Apostles FC, All Blacks FC and Nations FC.

“It’s between Hearts of Lions, Young Apostles, All Blacks and Nations FC,” Tawiah said.

He pointed to the fixtures involving the relegation-threatened clubs, suggesting some teams already have a significant advantage heading into the final day.

“Lions have a guaranteed three points because they face Hoehoe United, who have withdrawn from the league, while Young Apostles will host Samartex, which gives them a huge home advantage,” he explained.

Tawiah added that the fight for survival could eventually come down to Nations FC and All Blacks, both of whom face difficult away fixtures.

“It means the battle will be between Nations or All Blacks, with both playing away in their respective fixtures,” he noted.

He also referenced Asante Kotoko SC’s recent struggles in form, suggesting that could work in favour of All Blacks in their clash.

“Kotoko is out of form, so there is a high possibility of All Blacks beating them, meaning even an away win against Karelia United will not be enough to save Nations,” he added.

Heading into the final round, All Blacks sit 13th on the table with 42 points, while Heart of Lions and Young Apostles also have 42 points. Nations FC, however, remain inside the relegation zone on 41 points, making them the only club among the contenders to enter the final day currently in danger of the drop.
