Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim has confirmed that he is unlikely to play in the Ghana Premier League this season despite receiving offers from clubs.
Salifu, who is currently a free agent after parting ways with Ethiopian side Wolaita Dicha FC following the 2025/26 season, was reportedly linked with a move to Asante Kotoko, but the proposed transfer failed to materialise.
However, speaking in an interview with Accra-based Mothers 102.7FM, Salifu revealed that he is currently in talks with foreign clubs over a possible move abroad.
“So far, I don’t think I will play in the Ghana Premier League this season. I am expecting to go play outside the country,” he said.
Salifu Ibrahim previously played for Techiman Eleven Wonders and Accra Hearts of Oak before moving to FC Drita in Kosovo.
His impressive performances in the Kosovo league reportedly paved the way for him to switch international allegiance and represent the Benin national team.
With talks ongoing with clubs outside Ghana, Salifu is now expected to continue his career abroad rather than return to the Ghana Premier League this season.
