Morocco will face Ghana in an international friendly on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Grand Stade de Tanger, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced on Thursday.
The fixture was arranged after Ghana’s previously scheduled friendly against Tanzania was reportedly cancelled, allowing the FRMF and Ghana Football Association (GFA) to finalise the encounter.
The match will conclude the September-October international window for both sides and give Morocco an opportunity to assess their squad following their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying fixtures.
Morocco begin their Group A qualifying campaign at home against Gabon on September 25 before travelling to face Lesotho four days later.
Ghana, meanwhile, will open their Group C campaign away to Ivory Coast on September 24 before facing The Gambia.
For Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi, the friendly will provide an opportunity to assess his squad and test new additions against Ghana.
The Black Stars will also use the fixture to continue preparations and build momentum against strong opposition under head coach Carlos Queiroz.
The encounter will be played at the Grand Stade de Tanger, also known as the Ibn Battuta Stadium, which has hosted major international fixtures.
The match is scheduled for 7pm local time in Morocco and will bring together two of Africa’s prominent national teams in Tangier.
