Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has invited nine [9] additional players to his squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as an international friendly against Morocco.
The additions come after Mohammed Kudus, defender Nathaniel Adjei and forward Prince Kwabena Adu withdrew from the squad.
The Ghana Football Association said the changes followed medical uncertainties involving some players, prompting Queiroz to make additions to the squad ahead of the three international fixtures.
Four defenders have been added, with Jonas Adjetey of VfL Wolfsburg, Alidu Seidu of OGC Nice, Ebenezer Annan of Rapid Bucharest and Rockson Yeboah of Osasuna joining the squad.
Slovan Bratislava midfielder Rahim Ibrahim has also received a call-up. In attack, Coventry City forward Brandon Thomas-Asante, Mohammed Fuseini of Derby County, Kalba striker Benjamin Tetteh and Felix Afena-Gyan of Igdir FK have been added to the squad.
The Black Stars opened camp in Accra on Monday, September 21, as preparations began for the crucial AFCON qualifying double-header and the friendly against Morocco.
Ghana will travel to Bouake to face Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday, September 24, before hosting The Gambia three days later.
The Black Stars will then face Morocco in an international friendly on October 4. The latest changes give Queiroz additional options as he prepares for the upcoming assignments, with the coach expected to use the international window to assess his squad and build a more settled team.
Ghana missed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and will be keen to make a strong start to their campaign to qualify for the 2027 tournament.
