George Afriyie, the closest competitor polled 43 votes while Nana Yaw Amponsah depreciated in numbers from 27 to 16.

At this stage, most of the delegates and football loving fraternity were expecting the Okyeman Planners boss George Afriyie to concede defeat to avoid a third round voting.

Just after the third round voting had taken off, Dr. Kofi Amoah, President of the Normalization Committee of the GFA, haulted the voting process saying George Afriyie has got “something to say” to all gathered at the auditorium. As expected by many, George Afriyie mounted the podium, and while paying homage to all for the support given him, firmly conceded defeat and congratulated Kurt Okraku after describing himself as “a unifier who works for football”.

At this stage, as per the Regulations of the elections, a third round of the elections took place this time just to vote YES or NO for the purposes of popular acclimation.
