George Akwasi Afriyie, presidential candidate for the Ghana Football Asssociation has honourably and sincerely conceded defeat in the ongoing elections and has congratulated the leading candidate Kurt E. S. Okraku after the run off polls.
Kurt. E. S. Okraku extended his lead from 44 to 59 votes to lead the polls while his closest competitor George Afriyie polled 43, increasing by 3 votes after the second round.
The other candidate Nana Yaw Amponsah polled 16 votes, dropping from the initial 27 votes he gained in the first round.
However, non of the three candidates gained the required 50+1 votes and baring anyone pulling out, the elections were to enter the third round.
Just after the third round had started, George Afriyie mounted the podium, grabbed the microphone and did the most expected by conceding defeat, whiles he congratulated Kurt for winning the polls.
As of now, Kurt Okraku leads gallantly as the winner ahead of the next step which is popular acclimation before official declaration is made.
