Premier League side Kumasi based King Faisal have appointed former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer George Amoako as Executive Chairman of the club.
The axed Asante Kotoko CEO makes a return to the 2004 Ghana top 4 champions side after an enduring rocky tenure at Asante Kotoko under the Dr Kwame Kyei led administration, and the “Babies” have taken to their official twitter handle to announce the arrival of the veteran football administrator as an official of the club.
“We welcome our new Executive Chairman George Amoako to the club. He brings go to bear a rich vein of experience in the game”, King Faisal announce.
Having worked with the club before where he proved influential to the glories of the club during his days, King Faisal are extremely delighted about his arrival and have extended gratitude to the GFA Executive Council member, describing him as “king” as he comes in with vast experience.
“We are grateful for having him in our fold. It is our prayer that our union will yield many successes in the years that follow. Welcome King George!!”, the club stated.
The arrival of George Amoako means the current structure of King Faisal have Alhaji Ahmed Abdul Karim Gruzah (Founder), Mr George Amoako (Executive Chairman), Alhaji Kamil Mohammed (Executive Vice Chairman), Sadat Anwar (CEO), Nana Amankwah Kwakye (Sporting Director), Ibrahim Mohammed (Board member) and Awal Mohammed as the Director of communication.
King Faisal struggled in the now nullified 2019/2020 domestic league during which after 14 matches, failed to win any, drawing 8 and losing 6. The club was heading to relegation per the trend of results being acumulated before being save by the bell – the cancellation of the season due to the covid-19 pandemic. The inclusion of experienced George Amoako is expected to turn the fortunes of the club when football returns.
