For the first time in the history of Ghana Football presidential elections, the Normalization Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in collaboration with three media partners, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and two others will organise a Radio and Television debate for all the six Presidential candidates for the GFA elections.
The debate will be held on Monday, 21st October, 2019 at the Physician and Surgeons Centre at 6:30pm in Accra. The unprecedented Presidential debate which will be televised live on GTV, is expected to centre on the visions of the candidates tailored towards the development of football in the country. There shall as well be an open forum for the media present to ask the questions bordering on the minds of the ordinary football loving Ghanaian to elicit solution oriented responses from the presidential hopefuls.
Five of the six candidates; lawyer Amanda Akuokor Clinton, Kurt E. S. Okraku, lawyer George Ankomah Mensah, Nana Yaw Amponsah and Fred Pappoe have all consented and accepted the invitation from the NC for the debate, having availed themselves for the event which is a contest of ideas.
However, George Afriyie, the bankroller of Okyemang Planners FC, the fifth candidate has reportedly declined to honour the debate.
The Normalization Committee is appreciative of those who have accepted the invitation to debate each other for the top most position of the GFA and wishes them well ahead of the big clash on Monday.
