Evelyn Nsiah Asare has heaped praises on the Ghanaian media for their promotion of the National Women’s League.
The Chief Executive Officer of Hasaacas Ladies FC says the female journalists especially are making the league look international with their coverage of the games on the media.
The Women’s Premier League, though young in Ghana, is making some good strides with clubs very visible on social media.
All the clubs have social media handles with media officers providing extensive coverage from off-the-pitch activities to training sessions to live match updates.
“The media in Ghana, most especially the female journalists have made the women’s Premier League a delight to watch with the way they promote the games,” she observes.
“Sometimes, when you look at the updates and the kind of hype they give the teams, one might think it was an international competition,” Evelyn told ghanasportspage.com
Despite the sharp rise, there is still more room for improvement and Evelyn Nsiah Asare thinks the clubs opening up more to the media would be the catalyst.
“With the great job the media is doing, I entreat my fellow CEO’s and team owners to help them with the necessary information which will enable them to continue to promote our league games and teams.”
Ghana’s Women Premier League season has been a success halfway into the campaign.
The first round ended with clubs clinched tightly to each other on the table with the second round expected to start in April this year.
