The 2019 edition of the President cup to be contested for by Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is set to be very lucrative as both teams go into the game with huge financial benefits.
Both clubs have proudly confirmed their participation in Sunday’s game and vice president of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and official of the organizers, Alex Akumey has confirmed the financial packages for the participating clubs as they come together to play the ceremonial match is played annually in honour of the sitting President of the republic.
Both Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will pocket GHC100,000 each as participation fee, with the winner of the match taking home a whooping GHC30,000 while the runner up gets GHC20,000.
“We are giving each club GHC100,000 for only that game, the winner will get GHC30,000 and the loser will get GHC20,000”, Alex Akumey confirmed in an interview with Rush Hour Sports on Fox FM.
In addition to the money, there shall be a giant trophy to be presented to the winning club as well as gold medals for the winning team and silver medal as usual, also for the runner up.
The match comes off on Sunday, 8th September, 2019 at the Kumasi Baba Yara sports stadium.
