Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams will have competition as Manchester United have got their hands on Alex Telles, the FC Porto side
Manchester United has been rather wise this summer. Apart from the arrival of Donny van de Beek for 39 million euros, the Red Devils only got the loan of Joel Pereira (Huddersfield Town). But in the final stretch of the Mercato, the Mancunian club decided to pass the top gear.
Interested in Alex Telles for several months, Manchester United have long discussed with FC Porto to secure the services of the Brazilian left-back, also in the sights of Paris Saint-Germain. And while it was thought that he would wait until January to finalize the whole thing, MU accelerated to recruit the 27-year-old.
New championship for Alex Telles
A few hours before the transfer market closed, the English team made the arrival of the FC Porto player official: “Manchester United are delighted to confirm the arrival of Alex Telles from FC Porto. The defender has signed a four-year contract with an option for a one-year extension.” To afford the Brazilian, the Mancunians had to release 15 million euros, plus 3 million euros in bonuses, according to the English press.
