Premier league side King Faisal Football Club have mutually parted ways with midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei at after one season of working together, the club has announced.
Nii Adjei, who have previously had envious career with Asante Kotoko, TP Mezembe, joined the ‘Insha Allah’ boys on a season long contract, which took effect from the beginning of the 2019/2020 league season. Nii was an integral member of the squad during the nullified 2019/2020 league season though his efforts was not enough to lift the club above the relegation line.
The 32-year old midfield icon lost favour with the club when he was reportedly caught up in a rant with the bankroller Alhaji Karim Grusah in March this year, following their 2-1 defeat to Dwarfs in a league match last season.
Consequently, Nii Adjei was ejected from the team’s camp by the owner and president of the club Alhaji Gruzah following said heated exchange of words. Reports said Alhaji Gruzah vowed not to continue working with the player again. Despite making amends and returning to training after some days before the eventual cancellation of the league season due to the covid-19 pandemic, Nii Adjei’s future with the club had always been in the balance.
On Thursday, the club announced that both parties have parted ways, wishing the player well in his future endeavours.
“We have mutually agreed to part ways with midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei. We’d like to wish Adjei the very best in his future career”, the club announced.
