Ahead of their CHAN qualifier first leg match against Burkina Faso on September 20, the Black Stars B are yet to resume camp as they look to prepare for the WAFU tournament few weeks after the Burkina Faso game, but the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) have explained that the delay is due a search for a befitting place for camping.
August and September remain a very packed months for the various national teams as they prepare for various assignments, leaving most of the usual camping bases for the teams currently occupied.
The Black Meteors (national U-23 Olympic team) are currently camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram ahead of their U-23 Africa Nations Championship qualifier against Algeria, while the Black Queens (national women senior soccer team) are also camping at the same place, using facilities available for their preparations against Gabon in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games qualifier.
The Black Satellites, the national U-20 mean soccer team on the other hand, are also camped at the M-Plaza hotel in Accra as they prepare for the All African Games (AAG) scheduled to take place between August 19 to August 31 in Morocco.
The Cape Coast Stadium, which hosted the 2017 WAFU tournament, is also occupied with other federations preparing for the AAG. This has created some difficulties for the MOYS in settling on where and when the camping will commence.
A source close to the sports ministry has revealed to Fox Sports that the sector is currently considering Kumasi or Koforidua to be the place to camp the home based Black Stars once details are settled with the technical team which is headed by coach Maxwell Konadu.
