Ostentatious, overweening and vaunting China based Emmanuel Kwaw, a member of Circles 0086, the Asante Kotoko supporters wing of the diaspora has irresponsibly withdrawn his own wilful promise which he made to the Asante Kotoko players ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup competition tie against E.S Setif last Sunday in Accra.

The bragging China based Circles member, in few days to the match, spoke to ghanasportspage.com where he unreservedly promised to pay a total sum of GHC1,000 for each goal his club (Asante Kotoko) will score against the Algerian giants. He clearly stated that he will pay the money to the player(s) who will be scoring for the Porcupine Warriors on the day, and will pay regardless of the number of goals the team will score on the day. It was the second time he was making such a similar promise in an interview with this great news outlet, having promised same before the team’s Champions League first leg against Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou.

Emmanuel Kwaw had told ghanasportspage.com, that he was ready to pay the sum of GHC1000 to each player that will score for Kotoko against E.S Setif and he will do so regardless of the scoreline after the game.

“I’ll plead with them (the players) that if the goals will flow like this, then each player who will score a goal (against E.S Setif) I will give him GHC1000.00. It doesn’t matter the number of goals they’ll score, if one player scores 1 goal it is GHC1000.00, if Kotoko is able to score 10 goals that is GHC10,000.00 and I will pay to each player who scores. Even if one player scores 5 goals I will give him GHC5,000.00, so it is a promise I’m making to the players that they should continue to score”, he emphatically promised ahead of the game.

For the purposes of clarity, Kwaw was asked whether he intends to still deliver on his promise even in a worse case scenario that Asante Kotoko loses to E.S Setif but a Kotoko player manages to score a goal, and he responded to the affirmative.

““This one is not about win or lose or draw, I said they should score the goals for me, if only they score the goals, each goal will fetch GHC10,000.00 for the scorer from me. It is not whether they will lose or win, for me what matters to me are the goals, so if only they are able to score the goals, the money is ready, I will give it to them”, he affirmed.

Eventually, it turned out that Asante Kotoko gave away a one goal lead through their leading striker Kwame Opoku after a superb assist by Emmanuel Gyamfi, and lost the game by 2-1.

As Ghana’s trusted source of authentic sports news channel, ghanasportspage.com decided to follow up and ensure that Mr Emmanuel Kwaw fulfills his unequivocal promise to Asante Kotoko, specifically Kwame Opoku who scored that goal for Asante Kotoko. Amazingly, however, the braggart, blowhard Circles 0086 member has resorted into the use of foul language on the GSP1 Media staff, the Asante Kotoko players, and told us point blank that he will never pay a dime to the goal scorer. According to him, Asante Kotoko should have won the match against E.S Setif at all cost, and once that was not done, he is not ready to keep his words.

As if their earlier vainglorious boast of personal wealth was not enough, the cocky fan of the Porcupines tells ghanasportspage.com that “GHC1,000 is no money” to him and that it doesn’t even come near his previous day’s shopping cost.

While waiting and hoping he finds a reason to exercise a moral responsibility over his own immeasurable utterances, readers are directed to audio of his interview (in Twi language) with ghanasportspage.com in the attachment below:
