Ghana’s left back Gideon Mensah is thrilled by his loan move to Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães, and has as a matter of immediacy, outlined his major objectives and intentions for his new club, availing himself as ambitious player hoping to help the club do more in the upcoming season.
Gideon Mensah, the latest reinforcement of Vitória SC for the 2020/21 season, spoke to the media of the Guimarães club after completing his move on Monday, and expressed his happiness for taking this important step in his career.
“I am very happy to have signed for Vitória. I am very focused on the goals that the team has for this season and very eager to help.”
The Black Stars defender has two caps for the National team, although he is now joining the team, the reality of Vitória SC is already familiar to him, thanks to his new teammate and also Ghanaian, Abdul Mumin.
“I talked a lot with Mumin. We have the same agent and since he arrived at Vitória, we talked every day.
I wanted to know what Vitória is like, how he was feeling and the feedback that I received was very positive in terms of the club’s philosophy.This is an excellent opportunity to continue growing. Mumin is very happy and for me that was very important, it made me even more motivated to come”, he disclosed.
Gideon Mensah also took time to describe to the media his style of play as well as what he is capable of doing on the field of play.
“I am a player who does all the positions on the left side, I am very offensive and I know that, in the defensive moment, it cannot be easy to pass me. I am defensively combative but I like to play, I have a good relationship with the ball and I am a very attacking propensity. “
The left winger will be at the service of the Victorian emblem until the end of this season, leaving Vitória SC with an option to buy on a permanent deal at a cost of 2.2 million euros for the Ghanaian International.
