Former Black Stars skipper, Charles Kwabla Akunnor has finally penned a 2-year contract to coach the Senior National Team, The Black Stars of Ghana.
Akunnor guided Kumasi Asante Kotoko into the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup for the first time in a decade.
The new black Stars coach, Akonnor is expected to be unveiled after the coronavirus pandemic is brought under control in Ghana, Fox 97.9fm in Kumasi confirmed on their Monday morning sports show. The report also revealed that David Duncan and others will be part of Akonnor’s new backroom staff.
He is expected to transform the senior national team and guide the Black Stars to win the AFCON trophy that has eluded Ghana for the past 38-years. He must also qualify Ghana to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
