Nigeria Professional Football League giants, Kano Pillars FC have confirmed plans to play their home matches for the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup away from the Sani ABacha Stadium in the pyramid city of Kano.
This comes after the Sani Abacha stadium was chosen by the Kano state as one of its isolation centres for the treatment of the coronaviurs pandemic. According to Pillars, “the Kano state Government has given approval for the team to look for an alternative venue for their home matches” due to the above mentioned reason, the club confirmed on their website.
Alternative, Kano Pillars have chosen the Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello stadiums as the venues to choose from as their adopted home ground for their continental assignments for the coming campaign from the preliminaries and possibly the group stages of the competition
Consequently, the management of the club led by club Chairman, Mr Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu Jambul is expected to engage the managers of the said stadia in Kaduna and Bauchi states to deliberate on the possibility of hosting interim coach Ibrahim A.Musa and his charges for the continental showdown. Pillars will eventually choose one of the two venues for their home matches.
