Ahead of the 2021 WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations tournament which is currently ongoing in Togo, head coach of Ghana u-17 side Black Starlets, Ben Fokuo has announced his final squad list of 28 players for the tournament.
Earlier, over 150 players were invited for assessment by the coach before selection, and out of this huge figure, the coach has finally settled on his 28-man squad to represent Ghana in the said U-17 tournament.
The Black Starlets have been paired in group B with Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire, but will not partake in the first round of the competition since the number of teams in group is is just 3. The tournament officially started on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Kegue, Togo.
Attram De Visser Academy’s Abdul Manaf Ibrahim, Jonas Naafo of Nania FC, striker Bukari Sammed of Bolga All Stars, Collins Boah of Dreams Babies Football Club are few of the key players that made the squad.
The top two teams from this tournament will qualify for the 2021 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Morocco.
