Asante Kotoko Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama was handed his debut start in the Ghana Premier League against Liberty Professionals on Monday, and his performance did not go unnoticed as he wowed the fans with some brilliance.
The 28-year old marked his debut start with assist which placed him in the headlines after the game.
However, there has been an inaccurate reportage concerning provision of the two goals scored by striker Kwame Poku, with one of the assists wrongly attributed to the Brazilian.
Video highlights of the game, upon a critical assessment by ghanasportspage.com, reveals, that the now rising Brazilian midfielder provided only one assist instead of two as reported earlier by several media houses and social media.
The build up to Asante Kotoko’s first goal saw a pass from left back Imoro Ibrahim to Emmanuel Sarkodie at the far left side of the wings, who unleashed a left footed long pass to Kwame Poku in the box. Kwame Opoku controlled the ball with the chest before launching a shot which too a wicked deflection into the left top corner of the net for Asante Kotoko opener.
Brazilian Fabio Gama had then been patiently stationed in the box as an onlooker, and played no role in the build up to the opener.
However, Gama had apparently a good game and cemented that with a superb long pass which fell the way of Kwame Opoku who will beat three men before chipping the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 2-0, his 5th goal of the current campaign.
