Bad news for Manchester City. Kevin De Bruyne will be out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury, reports Sam Lee.
De Bruyne will definitely miss Manchester City’s game against Liverpool at the start of February after Pep Guardiola revealed the extent of the Belgian’s injury.
He was substituted during City’s 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening and scans on Thursday highlighted a minor tear of his hamstring. A further scan on Friday showed the injury to be more serious than first thought. (3 goals and 10 assists in 17 league games) complained of his ankle. The 29-year-old Belgian will miss between 4 and 6 weeks of competition, Pep Guardiola has just declared.
“Kyle (Walker) received a big kick in the hip but it’s only a blow. He is not available for tomorrow but we hope to have him with us in the next game. Kevin (de Bruyne), the doctor had to review the scanner this morning.
