Liberty Professionals and Medeama SC shared the spoils on Sunday at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena as the two sides played out a scoreless stalemate in the Ghana Premier League.
The highly tactical match saw the Scientific Soccer Lads keep clean sheet at home for the third time in a row likewise the Mauve and Yellows who also managed their first clean sheet in three aways games this season.
The first half was virtually balanced since both teams looked very cautious in order to make costly mistakes at the back.
The first goal chance fell the way of Medeama but goalkeeper Kofi Baah made a spectacular save in a one-on-one situation to deny Opoku Agyemang from putting Medeama ahead.
Liberty’s first goal attempt came in the 51st minute after Adraman Yahaya volleyed a cross from Evans Owusu but goalkeeper Boateng saved the situation for the Mauve and Yellows.
Medeama came close after breaking on a counter-attack but Zakaria Mumuni’s effort was saved by Kofi Baah.
The two teams tried to find the back of the net but none of their attempts could result in a goal.
The result leaves Medeama on the third position on the log with 41 points, a point behind first-placed Asante Kotoko whereas Liberty are lanquishing at the 15th position with 25 points.
Liberty will be travelling to the capital to take on Legon Cities FC on matchday 24 whereas Medeama welcome WAFA to the Tarkwa Akoon Park on Wednesday.
